When I first moved to Newport I joined the Newport Photography Guild and attended one of their parties. They all take pictures of their gardens. Our host had a photo book made of his hummingbird photos. He loves his hummers. You're in good company.
Thanks Molly, Another thoughtful post. Mid winter down here in Aotearoa. I have Tahitian limes navel oranges and a clementine mandarin all producing tons of fruit. The more you feed them the more fruit you get! Im of to Cairns Australia soon i have one daughter there, its tropical so will be taking an fm with a 50mm 1.4 and one of the last rolls of adox colour mission with me.
Mainly black and white for me now process it at home. Good score on the e series try to keep them dry esp if you going anywhere tropical.
that sounds so lush! and delicious! aww rip color mission, sounds perfect to use it there though and a great combo. what's your go to at the moment to process the black and white with? yesssss there are some very humid days here where its easy to get condensation if not careful but usually i try not to go outside myself let alone the cameras on those days lol just long enough to get the chickens all sorted! enjoy your trip!
Hi M, Been a bit of a scrap to consistently get one developer here. I shoot mainly adox chs 100ii and strangley use for one 35mm film xtol at 1:4 mixed with 2.5 mls rodinal @ 24C for 14mins and its great. The other favorite is fomapan 200 shot at 800 xtol 1:1 @20C for 9.5 minutes. I bulk load for economy and getting good results nowdays.
oh cool, never thought to combine developers! the adox films are really underrated, but they aren’t as available here or its a bit hit or miss whether they are in stock at different places. fomapan pushed, yes! bulk loading saves so much, what do you use to bulk load? I had an AP loader once but really struggled to get it set up, any recommendations?
Hi Molly, Not my idea to combine developers it came from online look up matt osborne fomapan review. He Uses fomapan 100 1:4 xtol + rodinal 2.5mls per litre 15 mins @ 23C OR XTOL 1:3 + 2.5mls rodinal 12 mins @ 22C. I a Western bulk film loader. I use a yellow green filter usually and the above produces good outdoor portraits except i use fomapan 200 which has a better grain structure. I buy from foto impex the film and paper. We are a pacific island country so doing all the above is affordable to keep shooting film. I cant send an image on here but have lots done this way.

I love the E series lenses to take pictures. They are my go to.

No. I haven't been a Nikon user for 10/12 years or so. I went Fuji / Leica to save my back from an F5, D810 and 3 x f2.8 zooms.
I had the 100mm when it was pretty new to the market and I couldn't afford the 85mm f2. A friend sold me it secondhand as, for some reason, he'd fallen out of love with it. The only "E" lens he really didn't like was the 28mm as it was a bit soft round the edges. Personally, I liked it but I already had a 28mm f2.8 AiS.

He also says pushing fomapan 1 or 2 stops doesnt change the processing time!

Nice shots! I only ever had one e-series lens, the 100mm f2.8 and it was excellent. Well done for bagging the set.

yep that’ll do it - it’s nicer to have the lighter cameras after that. oh yeah the 28mm is nice! handy to have photo friends moving on from kit haha
