I shot a roll of 35mm and was... satisfied? It was good, but I didn't get the halation that I wanted... though I don't know if I worked hard enough to provoke it 😹
wow, LOVE this car shot, and this Kentmere PAN 200 is interesting, as clean grain as gold 200 or EkTar 100 colour films, maybe a good pairing with them in bronica or hasselblad cameras?, so no need to change asa on the light meter, just switch mags and go.
I have four rolls of Kentmere 100 that I am going to shoot over the 4th of July holiday. I have never tried it, but I am hoping for the best. It will be interesting to see how it compares to your shots.
I'm really excited about this film. As I shoot mostly with really slow interwar period cameras, I actually quite like having a slower film than 400 ISO to give me more choice with my aperture. Also given how overcast it is in England, I barely venture into 100 ISO territory on good days so 200 ISO really works for me. I often use FOMA 200 for this reason but its base is so flimsy that the 120 is such a faff to load onto the developer reel. I can't wait to try this film.
I'm chuckling at your dislike of the packaging. My first thought when I saw the colours was, I love how Harman is showing support for Ukraine (in that rather understated English way)...
Awesome! bummer that foma is a pain to load but based on where you are, Ilford/Harman films would be a great choice. haha if the yellow was brighter and more similar to the Ukraine flag colors (same tone as the purple and blue of 100 and 400), I'd like it better!
I love your unapologetic opinion on the packaging (and completely agree). I’ve been shooting Kentmere 100 for a few rolls now, and while the results have been ok, I still think I prefer HP5.
So I’ve only shot two rolls but love the results in stock D-76 but these 510 results are superb!
thanks!! have you posted yours yet?
Not all of them yet. One got featured on Ilford’s Friday Favourites this past Friday! https://www.ilfordphoto.com/friday-favourites-13th-june-2025/
Cool!!
