She's back! Glad to hear that you are feeling better -- yes, travel, planes, people -- *EEEWWW* -- they'll get you sick! :-) Lots of news! I am pretty sure that the two Kodak entities in the sale are *not* directly connected to Kodak film production in Rochester, NY (USA) -- Kodak split itself into a bunch of different components years back when film was seriously on the decline, but I think that they did it in a smart way in order to preserve the 100+ year old buildings/facilities in Rochester to keep producing film (luckily the equipment has been modernized over the years!) -- so I am not too worried about Kodak ceasing film production -- if that happens, then we're right there with REM "It's The End Of The World As We Know It".... I have my Holga GCFN ready for Holga Week! Inside painted all flat black, outside covered with various film stickers and then lacquered on -- and I'll be shooting Lomo Turquoise.... Ack! I need to post a blurb about Holga Week on my photo website to advertise it! Cheers!!!

haha yeah it wasn't fun!! planes always seem to get me! Oh, yes, it's just Alaris, which sells the film but production is okay for now, and even the sale isn't necessarily a bad thing because they might invest into the company to improve it. The fact that someone wants to buy it might be a good sign! --- And YAYAYYY!!!!! I'd love to see a photo of the Holga, sounds fabulous! Lomo Turqoise, that's so cool, have fun!!

great wrap up as SPRING is on its way, I have just got out and finished a roll of 120 Gold 200 in my sinar F2 90mm f5.6 Fujinon SWD shooting at my local Botanical Gardens, a "glass" art exhibition, so rather rad, had a few groups of people ask about my monorail, which intrigued a few; so hopefully got a few into film, great to see another post.

Some news from my end in film, my hasselblad 500 c\m film magasine which I have been using lately, has had a light leak, so have got that serviced, THIS can and does happen, the light seals on the darkslide wear, so if the slide moves too freely, get it checked, esp. if an important shoot is coming up; just some general advice for all 120 shooters out there, whether Mamiya, Bronica, Rollei or Hasselblad, GET your film Magazine's CLA inspected by your shops regularly, these where in their day pro tools, intended to get serviced every two to three months, so like your car things wear, grease gets stiff, and light foam deteriorates, so expect some problems, its just the cost of owning these marvellous pieces of engineering.

Sounds great!! Good on you for spreading the love for film!! Great advice for those cameras, like keeping up with oil changes in cars, regular maintenance goes a long way!

Happy that Holga week is this week! Was feeling mwh about mine because getting film developed is pricey and was difficult while traveling. I found that not all places will email me my photos, which made me stop looking for photography stores/labs.

But now that Holga week is here, perhaps I shall feel more inspired.

Where are you traveling? That is frustrating and definitely a barrier to wanting to shoot/try to get it developed!

I was in Kentucky and Tennessee and the shops I went to didnt offer emailed photos. You had to physically go to the store to pick up the photos.

oh bummer :/ hope you can find a place that will though!

I know it's not sexy but I realized I can just take my film to CVS/Walgreens and they can email the photos to me.

Very cool! I have the original Rollei 35s. It's an amazing camera and along with my Rolleiflex 2.8, I plan to be buried with it! Holga is getting a lot of resurgence lately. I do love my old Holga 120 and 35. You've inspired me to pick it up!

Every time I see someone chatting about a Holga I'm so tempted to get one for fun, and am sooo sad about passing up a cheap one at a thrift store over a year ago now! Maybe this is a sign again, hmm...
